Description
Aim: Utilizing a Gamma Probe for confirmation of sentinel node in nuclear medicine. The localization of a sentinel node in surgery utilizing the Gamma Probe. Understanding the intrinsical rules that will help this technique to become more accurate. Methodology: The application of Lymphoscintigraphy and Lymphobiopsy by following protocols to achieve reproducible procedures. Results and Conclusions: The main conclusion is that Lymphoscintigraphy and Lymphobiopsy using the radioisotope and a colloid, assisted by a Gamma Probe is a very precise technique and easy to perform. Less morbidity to patients, allowing them to live a more normal life without the implications of lymphodisection. Instead a simple lympobiopsy can help to produce the same prognosis and is less invasive to the patient
