Renewable energy policies in times of climate change
Description
In light of growing concerns surrounding climate change, societies are increasingly aiming to shift their energy system towards carbon neutral production. Strategies for a transition to a carbon neutral energy system rely on policy instruments that provide incentives to invest in clean energies. Also, such strategies increasingly implement measures to lower investment barriers in order to amplify the impact of policy instruments employed. In order to address both aspects, this thesis examines and integrates auctions for renewable energy support with a global de-risking mechanism for investments in renewable energies.
