Intralobar pulmonary sequestration

  • 1. Okayama Univ. (Japan). School of Medicine

Description

Intralobar pulmonary sequestration is a relatively uncommon congenital anomaly that usually requires invasive procedures such as angiography for definitive diagnosis. We recently encountered a patient in whom the diagnosis of pulmonary sequestration was made by the findings on computed tomography. In this case, systemic arterial supply to abnormal lung was correctly diagnosed with CT. From our experience, it was suggested that CT might have a definitive role in obtaining a non-invasive early diagnosis of suspected cases of pulmonary sequestration. (author)
