Electrocatalysis at the heart of fuel cells
Description
Ideally, dihydrogen should be produced by electrolysis of water using renewable energy sources (solar or wind) in an electrolyser, then stored so that it can be released and converted into electricity according to demand in a fuel cell. In both these systems, platinum is the electrocatalyst of choice. But what is an electrocatalyst? Explained in this work by Laetitia Dubau
