On-line dispersion calculations within the nuclear reactor remote monitoring system

The measured values of the amount of emitted radioactive gases and aerosols and of the meteorological parameters acquired by the remote monitoring system for nuclear reactors (KFUe) are used for the computed prediction of the immission situation. The atmospheric distribution of the radioactive releases is described by a Gaussian model. The calculations of the atmospheric distribution are different between the case of normal operation of the plants and the case of unplanned releases caused by accidents. For the first case it is the long-term radiation exposure via all pathways which is calculated. In the case of an accidental release the exposure of the sourroundings of a nuclear power plant is calculated with regard to the γ-submersion dose from the cloud and the iodine inhalation by man.
