Description
There has been a renewed interest in metallic uranium and its alloys, in connection with fast-reactor development and the possibility of using materials for fuel production. Data on the diffusion and mutual diffusion of the components and thermodynamic properties of the alloys allow judgements on the stability and heat resistance of the materials and facilitate the choice of optimal alloy compositions. This paper considers data on the mutual diffusion in binary alloys of uranium with titanium and zirconium. Also considered is the correlation of diffusional data with the thermodynamic properties of the alloys. 14 refs., 4 figs
