Single-crystalline SnS2 nano-belts fabricated by a novel hydrothermal method

  • 1. State Key Lab of Silicon Materials, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou 310027 (China)

Description

SnS2 nano-belts have been prepared by a novel thioglycolic acid (TGA) assisted hydrothermal method. X-ray diffraction reveals that the SnS2 nano-belts are of hexagonal structure and well crystallized. Transmission electron microscopy observation shows that the SnS2 nano-belts have a width of 80-160 nm and a length of up to several micrometres, and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy further identifies that the SnS2 nano-belts are single-crystalline in nature. A preliminary mechanism for the TGA-assisted hydrothermal synthesis of SnS2 nano-belts is presented. (letter to the editor)
