The Health and Safety Executive's approval scheme for dosimetry services under the Ionising Radiations Regulations 1985

The legal background to dosimetry for workers is described with a structured approach to ensuring that this dosimetry meets certain minimum standards in Great Britain. Some of the advantages and disadvantages of obtaining uniformity whilst maintaining flexibility are summarised.
