CEA-ANDRA is a French organization for waste storage and management, which is responsible for both research and industrial activities in these fields; researches on the storage of long term radioactive wastes in deep geological horizons include studies on radionuclide separation and transmutation, reversible or irreversible deep storage, long term conditioning and surface storage, notably with multiple barrier confinement systems. ANDRA is also involved in the management of short-lived low- and medium-level radioactive wastes, very low-level wastes, radium containing wastes and radioactive wastes from non-electronuclear users
