Ultra-relativistic collisions of heavy ions
Description
The U.S. Nuclear Science Advisory Committee decided recently to pursue the construction of an ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collider. Here I review some of the physics motivations for this project, and discuss parameters for the design of such a machine. (orig./HSI)
