Description
The comparison between two dosimetry systems was studies for HDR intracavitary brachytherapy. A tissue equivalent phantom was designed to mimic the intracavitary treatment of cervix using Selectron HDR brachytherapy unit. The whole procedure was simulated as a real treatment for carcinoma cervix. In this treatment, point A, point B, rectum and bladder are the critical points and organs for consideration in view of radiation tolerance. The doses at these points were measured with ionization chamber and compared with manual calculations
