Globalization and its consequences should also become a topic for science. It is true that science, by its very nature, aims for the greatest possible generalizations in order to give its explanations universal meaning. But the inscribed tendency to interpret sovereignty is to be questioned; all the more so if one reaches for the stars and misses the fact that there is also life in the universe and therefore the question of space and time arises anew.

Globalisierung und ihre Folgen sollten auch für die Wissenschaft zum Thema werden. Zwar richtet sich Wissenschaft von Hause aus nach den größtmöglichen Verallgemeinerungen, um ihren Erklärungen universelle Bedeutung zu geben. Aber der ihr eingeschriebene Hang zur Deutungshoheit ist zu hinterfragen; erst recht dann, wenn nach den Sternen gegriffen und darüber versäumt wird, dass es auch Leben im Universum gibt und sich von daher die Frage nach Raum und Zeit neu stellt.Additional details
