Safety system for the shielding of radiation sources
Description
For rapid shielding of radiation sources lightweight vessels are used. They can be moved to the point of use from a central control point. Depending on the type of radiation, they are then filled with the shielding material, such as lead as a granulate and/or as spheres. Filling is done from outside the point of defect by means of a conveyor belt or a crane. For better stability the vessels may have tongued and grooved joints. (DG/RF)

Zum schnellen Abschirmen von Strahlenquellen werden leichte Behaelter benutzt. Sie sind von einer zentralen Bedienungsstelle aus zum Einsatzort transportierbar. Anschliessend werden sie je nach Strahlungsart mit Abschirmmaterial wie Blei in Granulat- und/oder Kugelform gefuellt. Die Fuellung erfolgt von ausserhalb der Schadensstelle mittels Foerderband oder Kran. Die Behaelter koennen zur Verbesserung ihrer Standsicherheit eine nut- und federaehnliche Gestaltung aufweisen.
