Folded waveguide coupler for ion cyclotron heating
Description
A new concept in high-power waveguide couplers for ion cyclotron range of frequencies heating is described. The structure consists of a periodic array of interleaved metallic vanes within a rectangular enclosure. It is analogous to a wide rectangular waveguide that has been folded several times to form a more compact structure. The frequency range of the waveguide is determined by the number of folds in the structure
