Analysis of pore structure via spin-lattice relaxation measurements

Description

A pore structure analysis technique based upon spin-lattice relaxation measurements of pore fluid is discussed. This approach does not require a pore shape assumption, can be used with wet materials, does not suffer from network/percolation effects and has a much higher sensitivity than adsorption/porosimetry (i.e. smaller pore volumes can be analyzed). The technique is demonstrated for a range of materials and results are compared to conventional pore structure analysis tools. 18 refs.; 6 figs
