First results from the NLO dimuon analysis at NuTeV
Creators
Description
First results from next to leading order (NLO) fits of the DIS charged current dimuon cross section data from the NuTeV experiment at FNAL are presented. Neutrino production of dimuon events provides a direct means of studying charm production and the strange sea. Here we present an NLO analysis of these data which utilizes a new calculation including all NLO diagrams and that is differential in all variables required to model detector acceptance. NuTeV used a sign selected beam, which allows independent measurement of the strange and antistrange sea, for which an asymmetry is potentially important in interpreting neutrino electroweak coupling results
