Passivity of vanadium in acid solutions
- 1. Leningradskij Politekhnicheskij Inst., Leningrad (USSR)
Description
Electrochemical behaviour of vanadium in aqueous solutions within potential wide range is investigated using potential wide range is investigated using potential-dynamic volt-ampere characteristics and solution atomic-absorption vanadium-ion analysis investigated in complex. Solution with pH 2.5 was chosen to study vanadium passivity. Thermodynamic calculation of electrode potentials of oxidation reactions of vanadium hydride and their comparison with data for the like reactions without V2H have shown that presence of hydride on the surface affects slightly equilibrium electrode potentials
