The ATLAS experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider
Description
The ATLAS project has entered its construction phase. The experiment will explore particle physics at the energy frontier for the decades to came. The ATLAS detector is being built by a large world-wide collaboration with 35 countries, including an important team from the Horia Hulubei National Institute of Physics and Nuclear Engineering (IFIN-HH). I present the status of the project and the prospect for discovery physics, briefly reviewing in particular the Romanian participation in the project. (author)
