Double magnetic transition and anomalous magnetoresistance in Er2Ni3Si5
Description
Synthesis and magnetic properties of a new material, Er2Ni3Si5, are reported here. This compound exhibits a double magnetic transition (Tm∼4 K and 3 K) as revealed by heat capacity measurement. The magnetic ground state in Er2Ni3Si5 is found to be a doublet. Magnetoresistance of Er2Ni3Si5 above Tm exhibits anomalous behaviour, suggesting occurrence of short range magnetic correlations above TN
