The shifts in the gravity centers of energy levels of rare earth ions due to crystal field
Description
The shifts in the gravity centers of energy levels of Er3+ in Y3Al5O12 caused by J-mixing are calculated. These shifts are as large as tens of cm-1. We fit the levels with Racah parameters E1, E2, E3, and spin-orbital coupling constant ξ, and compare the results with and without taking into account these shifts. (author). 5 refs, 3 tabs
