The model calculation of soil radon exhalation rate measuring

  • 1. China Inst. of Atomic Energy, Beijing (China)

Description

By analysing the source, decay and diffusing transport, the mathematics model used to calculating the distribution and radon exhalation rate was developed. The result shows that the closed-can method is limited by the can's size. For using the effective decay constant or line slope of radon concentration curve to calculate the exhalation rate, the height of the can should be more than a certain value which is 0.5 m in this case, and the radius of the can, for the former should be small, for the latter large
