Coulomb interference in e+e-→e+e- near the Z0 pole
- 1. Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY), Hamburg (Germany, F.R.)
Description
The effectiveness of the traditional Bhabha luminosity monitor is investigated around the Z0 pole. For angles below approximately 100 mrad the weak effects are a fraction of a percent and so have a negligible effect on luminosity measurements. For larger angles 100-200 mrad weak effects are an order of magnitude larger, and can yield information on weak interaction parameters, using only small tagging detectors with a sensitivity comparable to that provided by charge asymmetry measurements in a large central detector.
