Description

This paper discusses relevant features of the multiplicity distribution and direct evidence for intermittency effects in e+e- annihilation at 14 < square root s < 47 GeV. The charge multiplicity distributions are narrower in e+e- annihilation than in hadron-hadron interactions and they are reasonably well described by the Negative Binomial Distribution. The parameter k of this distribution finds an interesting interpretation in the model of clan formation by Giovannini and Van Hove. Evidence for non-vanishing forward-backward multiplicity correlations is presented and explained within the Lund model of e+e- annihilation. Direct evidence for intermittency effects in e+e- annihilation is reported and discussed within the frame of the Lund parton shower model
