Description

Instrumental developments in high-resolution neutron measurements are discussed from the viewpoint of time-of-flight experiments with broad spectrum enutron sources. Discussions are mainly restricted to the energy range above approx. 100 keV, where most rapid progress has been made in recent years. The presentation begins with a few typical examples of neutron investigations for which high-resolution measurements are important. Experimental conditions necessary to perform high-resolution measurements are briefly summarized. The relevant instrumental developments are then discussed in detail, and further improvements currently under active development are outlined. (author)
