The time projection chamber
Creators
Description
This popular article featues new Canadian apparatus intended to detect the decay of muons to electrons. The Time Projection Chamber, now installed at the TRIUMF meson generator, will improve by a factor of 10 to 100 the sensitivity with which one can observe the reaction of a muon, bound in an orbit around the core of an atom, directly into an electron
