Synthesis of dicarbollides of lanthanum and erbium

Description
The synthesis of Er and La dicarbollide compounds based on Na(C5H5) or Na2B9C2H11 interaction with dehydrated chlorides in dry organic solvents:tetrahydrofuran(THF), ether, benzol, is studied. It is shown that depending on the ratio of components in the initial mixture the products of different composition containing solvate THF appear:Zn2(B9C2H11)xnTHF, NaZn(B9C2H11)2xnTHF, (Ln(BH4)2)2B9C2H11xnTHF, Zn(B2C9H11)Clx5THF(Zn=La,Er). The IR spectra of the prepared substances and their structure are studied. The instability of compounds to water is noted
