Research on the development of radiation monitoring and control systems for reprocessing facilities
Description
Radiation monitoring and control systems have been developed, which take account of the status of operation process of reprocessing facilities. The systems use stored information of experts' experiences and past records, including information of covariance in radiation monitors, and reporting of special operations. The research has been included in the national annual safety research project for nuclear facilities since FY 1996. In FY 1998, the result was achieved on conceptual design of supporting system, which consists of the functional design, the design of knowledge databases, making a prototype, the evaluation of supporting procedures, and design of system integration. In the phase of development of radiation monitoring support system, a prototype system was developed, and the appropriateness of inference method for covariance of static monitors was evaluated. In the phase of development of radiation operation control supporting system, a prototype was developed for the estimation of dose equivalent, the retrieval of past records, and the function of past data management, and the effectiveness of each function was evaluated.
