The United States uranium registry: latest in a series of United States tissue donation programs
Description
The United States Uranium Registry, funded by the United States Department of Energy, was established in 1978. The objective of the program is to obtain voluntary premortem commitment for postmortem tissue donation. Analysis of this donated tissue should (1) identify the nature and distribution, if any, of uranium in the tissues, (2) evaluate the adequacy of current (and past) health protection programs, and (3) test the appropriateness of current regulations. Enrollment results of this and previous programs are outlined
