Development and testing of interactive operators aid systems for PWR abnormal transients assessment and control

  • 1. Commissariat a l'Energie Atomique-Dre, Centre d'Etudes Nucleaires de Cadarache, B.P. No. 1, 13108 Saint Paul Lez Durance Cedex (France)

Description

Different modes of information display for nuclear power plant operator aid have been tested as parts of the CEA's SINDBAD program. These computerized systems aim at improving the operator's performance in detecting, understanding and assessing the effects of abnormal transients. Furthermore some of these displays can also be considered as tools of interest for the mitigation of these abnormal transients. Results of tests, carried out with the DRE's SALAMANDRE accidental transients simulator show to evidence the potential and the limits of such display modes and lead to define the scope of further developments
