Description

The motion of the magnetization in a paramagnetic system under the action of magnetic fields is described by the Bloch Equations (1946). Under pulsed fields these equations have solutions called spin echoes, which are transient signals which represent a refocusing of the magnetization in its plane of precession. It has recently been recognized that the equations of motion of electric charges in a conducting medium are identical to the Bloch Equations, and consequently possess the same solutions. This analogy led to the theoretical prediction of current echoes, a phenomenon yet to be observed experimentally. The associated resonance phenomenon we have called Electrical Current Resonance (ECR). (author)
