Inlet or outlet branch of heat exchanger for nuclear power and heating plants

Description
The inlet and outlet branches of a heat exchanger for nuclear heat and power plants are made from a jacketed tube whose one end is welded into the tubeplate while the outer jacket of the other end is welded into the spherical bottom of the heat exchanger. The inner part of the branch may freely dilate so that no stress results from the differences in temperature on the primary and the secondary sides of the heat exchanger. (J.B.)
