Fracture characterization by seismic and sonic methods - techniques applied during phase III of the Stripa project

Creators

Description

The program for the development of seismic methods included in Phase III of the project has so far as main achievements a new type of seismic source and a novel approach to the detection of fractured zones and calculation of their position in three dimensions. The operation principle of the source and the basic ideas of interpretation approach are reviewed. The equipment and interpretation software are both currently used in the Phase III site characterization programme, and some examples are given from these tests
