Studies on pulse spectrum produced by single and a few primary electrons in a proportional counter

Description
The experimental study on pulse-height distribution produced by single and a few primary electrons which are released by ultraviolet radiation and ultrasoft X-rays in gas proportional counter is presented. The result shows that the pulse-height distribution of a few primary electrons is a weighted sum of Γ distributions under conditions the single electron spectrum can be represented by a simple exponential
