Structure and phase composition of (Mo+Ti)/Si system affected by the action of compression plasma flows

Description

Influence of the action of compression plasma flows on phase composition and structure of '(Mo+Ti) coating-Si(111) substrate' system has been studied. (Mo+Ti) coating was pre-deposited on silicon single crystal plates. Power density transferred by plasma flows estimated to 1,2-1,5 GW/m2, duration of the action was about 100 μs. It has been revealed that the action of compressive plasma results in the formation of solid solution (TixMo1-x)Si2 based on high temperature molybdenum disilicide and dendritic structure formation.
