Wire strain gauges
Description
The invention refers to a wire strain gauge which may be pasted to a position to be tested and which has at least one so-called measuring grid, to the connecting ends of which measuring lines are soldered for conducting the current flowing through the measuring grid. The measuring grids consist of meander-shaped thin metallic foil strips being put on a carrier made of a plastic foil. The electric resistance of the metallic strips is changed by extension and variation of their crystalline structure. This change in resistance is a measure for the extension which may be picked up electrically through amplification. (orig.)

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf einen auf eine zu pruefende Stelle aufklebbaren Dehnungsmessstreifen mit wenigstens einem sogenannten Messgitter, an dessen Anschlussenden Messleitungen zur Weiterleitung des durch das Messgitter fliessenden Stromes angeloetet werden. Die Messgitter bestehen aus maeanderfoermig geformten duennen metallischen Folienstreifen, die auf einen Traeger aus einer Kunststoffolie aufgetragen sind. Der elektrische Widerstand der metallischen Streifen wird durch ihre Dehnung und durch eine Veraenderung in ihrem kristallinen Gefuege veraendert. Diese Widerstandsaenderung ist ein Mass fuer die Dehnung, das elektrisch mit Verstaerkung abgegriffen werden kann. (orig.)Files
