Description

Real-space pairing among hybridized electrons in a periodic system is proposed. It is mediated by the s-d exchange of the type which leads to the Kondo effect in impurity systems. The effective Hamiltonian in the hybridized basis is transformed into a form similar to that for a narrow-band case. The importance of the results for both the heavy-fermion and the high-T/sub c/ superconductors is briefly discussed
