Description
Design rules exist for fatigue analysis, except in the case of crack-like discontinuities. A practical rule which uses the fatigue curves contained in design codes is described. It is based on the strain range value at a distance d from the crack tip, d being a material characteristic. This rule enables one to predict the experimental results. It can also be used for analysis of small cracks. This rule is included in the RCC-MR design code. (author)
