Description
This paper presents the result of feasibility study, for the case of adopting concrete filled steel (SC) structure for a PWR type nuclear power plant building. In this paper, the main members of the SC cross sections were computed by a cross section calculation method formulated by basing on experimental results of the past. Also conducted were the design study for estimating the quantity of major materials, and the review on construction feasibility pertained to its sequence, method and time schedule. This paper reports on the result of study report for the case of using the SC structure for the building, in comparison with the conventional reinforced concrete (RC) structure
