The white-light and emission corona on July 31, 1981

Description
The white-light corona from the total solar eclipse which occurred 19 months after the maximum of solar cycle No. 21 displays 4 different types of coronal structure:polar coronal holes, large coronal streamers, loops and arches, and polar rays. On the eclipse day, prominence activity was observed at P.A. of about 90deg, 177deg and 270deg. The spectrographic distribution of 530.3 and 637.4 nm coronal intensities is given for the whole range of heights observed. (author)
