Description

A simple double-crystal spectrometer with an anti-parallel setting in 2θ scanning range from 20 deg. up to 147 deg. was developed for the experiment of RIXS in the third generation synchrotron facility BL15XU, SPring-8. The spectrometry is done with modifying the commercial RIGAKU spectrometer (3580EKI). Although the resolving power of the double-crystal X-ray spectrometer is largely dependent on the perfection of the crystals, double-crystal spectrometer in general secures high resolving power, intensity, and reproducibility. As an example, RIXS data of several elements in ferroelectric materials, LiTaO3 and BaTiO3, are presented
