Superpositions of truncated phase states: generation and properties

Description

It is shown that superpositions of Pegg-Barnett truncated phase states can be produced in a high-Q cavity by a procedure similar to that for generating Schroedinger-cat states of a field mode. Nonclassical properties on these superpositions are discussed and squeezing of the phase variance is demonstrated for some of these states. Phase-space representations and measures of nonclassicality of such states are also studied
