The role of neutrons in the early stage of radiobiological research in Hungary
Description
The early stage of radiobiological research in Hungary is reviewed. Neutrons were applied to produce artificial radioisotopes. Neutron source was made using radium samples. Three main applications of radium to produce neutrons are discussed. The photoneutron method is described in detail. The structure and application of the first neutron source applied to produce radioisotopes are described. The subsequent developments are briefly reviewed. (D.Gy.)
