Yeast irradiation with rx and red/infrared led: contradictory results

Description
In this work, irradiation with light-emitting diode (LED) sources was used as a physical process capable or not of reducing the proliferation of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Tests were performed to determine the number of viable microorganisms and in control samples. In parallel, the influence of X-ray irradiation on Saccharomyces cerevisiae was evaluated. The objective of this work is to verify the effect of irradiation with red/infrared light (equipment: ECCO, under conditions for the treatment of fungi) and X-rays (PANTAK, 320), on Saccharomyces cerevisiae (in vitro).
