Nuclear physics at CEA/DES

  • 1. CEA - Centre de Cadarache, Direction des energies - DES, 13108 Saint-Paul-lez-Durance (France)

Description

The assessment of nuclear data at CEA/Direction of Energies (DES) combines the development of a theoretical approach with the measurement of fundamental observables through microscopic experiments as well as with integral experiments allowing a more macroscopic validation of data. DES has developed the CONRAD code that is a tool of analysis and modeling of cross-sections. The FIFRELIN code is a Monte-Carlo code that simulates the deexcitation of fission fragments in order to reach prompt fission observables such as neutron spectra, neutron multiplicity and gamma rays. The capitalization of knowledge on the assessment of nuclear data has allowed DES to take part to the JEFF nuclear database project of the NEA/OECD. (A.C.)
