Current options and trends in neoadjuvant treatment of rectal cancer

Rectal cancer is a serious diagnosis that requires a multimodal, interdisciplinary approach. In this context, neoadjuvant treatment is irreplaceable under certain conditions. Preoperative radiotherapy or chemoradiotherapy significantly influences the difficulty of possible surgical intervention, the risk of tumor recurrence, and overall survival. (author)
