Making and prediction of compound cerium concentrate from monazite

Description
Making of Ce concentrate have been done from monazite through leaching using H2SO4, quenching, digestion using NaOH, dissolution and oxidation using KBrO3 or without KBrO3 and precipitation Ce using NH4OH. From the data obtained as well and based on the calculation, a compound formed was mixture of Ce (IV) ammonium nitrate which has the molecular formula (NH4)2Ce (NO3)6 and cerium hydroxide Ce(OH)4. Impurities contained were Th(OH)4(NH4)2Y(NO3), H4N5O12La, H12N3Pr, H12N3NdO15 and N3O9Sm. In oxidation using KBrO3 or without KBrO3, Ce concentrates were obtained have the same contents and precipitation efficiency. (author)
