Description
The photoinduced decompositions of some monovalent nitrate salts have been investigated using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Their relative rates of decomposition and the activation energy for decomposition of potassium nitrate (ca 330 cm -1) have been obtained. Low-temperature irradiation experiments have identified novel intermediates and products in the decompositions
