Description

Abstract only, full text of publication follows: This paper discusses Candu heavy-water reactors. A short historical background and the basic Candu concept are first presented, as it is anticipated that the target audience has little familiarity with Candu. Operating Candu reactors are reviewed, and new evolutionary designs presented. Candu fuel, and the flexibility afforded by on-power refuelling, are described. A range of advanced fuel cycles, further exhibiting Candu flexibility, is presented. (author)
