Device for the ionometric determination op the dose absorbed in various materials - Study of the air and tissue equivalence of various materials used in photon dosimetry
Description
The author has used a device measuring ionometrically the dose absorbed in different materials to show, in the first experimental part, the influence of the nature of the walls on the volume ionisation current collected in an ionisation chamber by a photon flux. The second part is devoted to the theoretical and practical examination of the equivalence of materials; a direct application is the experimental verification of the air equivalence of a teflon-carbon mixture, and the tissue equivalence of a mixture of polyethylene and magnesium fluoride for photons having au energy of between 0.0595 and 1.25 MeV (author)
Abstract (French)
A l'aide d'un dispositif de mesure ionometrique de la dose absorbee dans differents materiaux, l'auteur montre, dans une premiere partie experimentale, l'influence de la nature des parois sur le courant d'ionisation volumique recueilli dans une chambre d'ionisation irradiee par une fluence de photons. Une deuxieme partie est consacree a l'examen theorique et pratique de l'equivalence des matepiaux avec, comme application directe, la verification experimentale de l'equivalence a l'air d'un melange teflon-carbone et l'equivalence aux tissus d'un melange polyethylene au fluorure de magnesium pour des photons d'energie comprise entre 0,0595 et 1,25 MeV.
