Specific features of deformation and fracturing in nickel alloys under operation simulating conditions

Description

Effect of various structural factors on deformation and fracturing processes in heat-resisting alloy EI437BUVD are studied. Tests on thermomechanical fatigue by temperature change from 0 up to 670 H/mm2 and thermocycling within the range of 20-650 K indicated that fracturing begins on the surface and propagates in samples depth on the account of accumulating fatigue damages and sharp decrease in plasticity. It is established that accelerated cooling after quenching, formation of carbide phase on grain boundaries and grain structure reduction facilities increase of endurance. 5 figs
